Appearance: Powdery-blue needles are what set this evergreen apart from other Spruce trees. Given its attractive silvery foliage, the Hoopsii is a highly ornamental variant. The large branches form a natural pyramidal habit that reaches a good height for privacy screening or as a feature in the landscape.

Care and Maintenance: Hoopsii Spruce is extremely rugged and hardy species. Once established this tree is considered drought tolerant and handles alkaline soils. The preferred site is full sun in moist well draining soil. Pruning the Hoopsii Spruce is only required for clipping the new growth of the season or to reduce dieback, making it a relatively low maintenance species. Water well for the first season until established. Be sure to watch out for common pests such as adelgids, aphids and conifer red spider mites.
