Appearance: Derived from a cross between 'Rosthern' and 'Spring Snow', Starlite Flowering Crabapple is another desirable cultivar for smaller spaces, given its graceful, upright growth habit. Features abundant clusters of white flowers in spring. Pointy foliage is a glossy deep green, turning yellow in fall. Fruit is showy, red, and ornamental. It persists on branches throughout the season, attracting birds and providing winter interest. Care and Maintenance: A very cold hardy, disease resistant cultivar, Spring Snow Flowering Crabapple is relatively low maintenance. Best pruned in late winter, after the risk of extreme cold has passed. It has a low canopy (4' from ground), is highly adaptable to a variety of soil types/pH, and is highly tolerant of urban pollution. This tree prefers to be grown in average to moist soil.
